One thing most parents get wrong about UC San Diego

UCSD is the one public flagship where being from out of state may help you. For Fall 2025, Californians were admitted at roughly 25% while out-of-state applicants were admitted at nearly 40%, because UCSD's yield is around 20% and it must make far more offers than it has seats. Almost every parent assumes the opposite.
