One thing most parents get wrong about UIUC

UIUC admitted 42% of applicants campus-wide, which makes parents relax — and then their child is rejected from computer science. Grainger Engineering is a completely different competition. UIUC also rates rigor of secondary school record and GPA as Very Important while rating test scores only Considered, and explicitly weighs first-generation status and work experience.
